The late 1970s was the birthplace of the punk music era. But a quiet little tune from Australian songwriter Doug Ashdown charted briefly in the midst of frenetic punk music scene.  Entitled “Winter In America Is Cold”, it was a song about love and loss.

NuFinish Car Wash is instrumental in making sure that your love suffers no loss during winter. It’s so easy to forget or not be motivated because it’s cold to go out and wash the winter muck off of our four wheeled love.

But why is a winter wash so important? In colder climes, whether or not the weather is wet or dry, exposure to the elements happens and left untended can be worse than during spring or summer. Cold air sits closer to the ground and is more likely to carry pollutants such as wood fire smoke, dirt, dust, and organic components from trees and plants.

Left unwashed, they’ll settle deeper into a car’s paint surface and here they’ll stand more chance of getting into the paint and coatings, causing microscopic damage than can spread.

NuFinish Car Wash has a formula that is engineered to gently lift out these unseen particles.  The recommended dosage is a cup in a bucket of warm water. It’s here that a user needs to judge how much and the temperature of the water.

Personal protection is important; a good set of waterproof gloves will make sure that hands and fingers are being looked after. Any water resistant and water proof clothing available should be used.

As a general rule, the warmer the day of washing the better, as warm water on cold metal may have an adverse reaction to the metal itself.  A gentle misting of water from the hose over the top should be an ideal starting point. This will allow a judgement call on just how cool or warm the water to wash the car with should be.

Wash a section at a time, ensuring it’s a clean cloth that’s being used. Rinse the section with a separate water source as this ensures a lack of putting back any dirt. This also will ease any chance of that cold water staying too long on the paint’s surface.  Chamois dry as quickly as possible.

In some areas of the country where snow retarding agents such as salt are used, winter washing becomes even more important. If it’s not washed out during the winter months it will have more chance of causing corrosion. It’s here a pressure washer with a reservoir attachment where NuFinish Car wash can be mixed and sprayed underneath the car, followed by a high pressure rinse, will also help in maintaining your car during winter.
